Thumb Slide Induction

I first saw this induction while flipping through YouTube videos on hypnosis. Up to that point, I’d never seen or heard of James Leong before. On the video, he looks so clinical, yet it seems that he’s doing a hotel ballroom seminar of some sort.

This is a gem of a rapid induction. I think you really have to be sure that you’ve already got some major rapport going with your subject. This is because this induction starts out with the hypnotist cradling the subjects face in their hands. Touching someone’s face is a fairly intimate gesture. Already you’re banking on some trust and comfort to be able to do that. The really nice part is that if you’ve already at that point where you could do that, you’re already part-way there!

Get their permission. Get their compliance. Get their attention. Get their face in your hands and say,

“As I pull my thumbs down your cheeks, your eyes will follow. SLEEP!”

Then immediately start to deepen them. Bang, zoom, it’s done.
